Security Clearance is a mandatory, legislated by the Greek government, procedure for all students of EU citizenship. The procedure is applicable to all non-Greek EU students, since they will be operating training from the International Airport of “N. Kazantzakis” at Heraklion, Crete.

A dedicated Security Clearance form must be filled in by each student or his/her assigned representative or legal guardian (if under 18 years old by the date of application).

The Legal Department of CEA will further forward the application to the responsible governmental officers for further assessment and will revert with their comments. The usual indicative time of assessment is between 2 – 3 months, but it can take longer. It is advisable for this reason, to proceed with the respective Security Clearance procedure as soon as the student(s) is determined, in order to avoid any delays on his/her training schedule. The procedure is cost-free and non-binding for the student and/or CEA.

Furthermore, a separate dedicated Application Form must be filled in by each student or his/her assigned representative or legal guardian (if under 18 years old by the date of application).
